Surgery and Henna

I've been using henna for about a year and a half, no, more like
two. My hair was falling out from medication....I used light auburn,
it improved 75% the first use. My hair began to grow longer, and
grow in. After the second use, my hair was amazing! Shiney, thick,
Pantene Commercial - like beautiful. I'm scheduled to have surgery
on Sept 16; will be under anesthesia 4hrs, with dope meds post op.
My roots are showing. Should I do the roots before or after
surgery. I want my hair to be very strong, and don't know which way
will strengthen it.

HELP!
