Henna Over-accumulate?

I haven't found the answer to this question....Can Henna over
accumulate on the old growth? Will it ever turn a bluish red? I
like the red-gold tones...sometimes I'd swear I see a bluish tint to
it, so I grab a mirror and stand in the sun.

When I chemically colored my hair, I used the same brand and
shade...one time my ends turned that blue-red I fear, and I had to
get my hair cut. I never dyed my whole head...I'd do the roots, then
work it through and let it set for 5 min.

I'm also concerned my color will fade. Should one wait for roots, or
is it safe to henna frequently??
