YOu can definitely color gray with henna. I'm 20% gray, at least, and
henna covers it beautifully. Over and over, people come in here
disappointed with some henna mix they got off a shelf. Henna is a
plant product, and it can go stale sitting on a shelf, and give you
poor or no results. If you get body art quality henna from any
supplier here, you have henna that was better quality to begin with,
and it is guaranteed fresh. With body art quality henna, you've got
more dye molecules to sink into your hair, so you're going to get
better gray coverage. That's why people are getting better results
working with body art quality henna. Its like the difference between
a fresh home-made cookie and a 10 year old Twinkie.

Other thing ........ the hot water is a bad idea. Use lemon juice
or some other acidic liquid to get dye release, and don't heat it. Go
