Re: Gray hairPosted by claire on September 6, 2004 at 06:46:47: In reply to: Re: Gray hair posted by Catherine Cartwright-Jones on September 5, 2004 at 10:39:57: Hi,I just henna my hair yesterday et here are my remarks about gray hair: I have naturally brown hair (quite dark)I have about 10 or 20 % gray but they concentrates at the templets(can you say that ? excuse my so bad english I'm a french girl!) I first henna my hair, one month after a semi-permanent chimical dye: i use henna from a store ,called "copper" actually a mix of henna and indigo (read the box after doing it!): the gray turns gold (which is quite nice but not in a brown hair!) Now I 'm happy the hair didn't became green because I didn't know you have to wait 6 month after a chimical dye and didn't make any test... Then I found this wonderfull site and learn a lot about henna!! So I decided to henna my hair once more with good henna and good practice: I order henna from Henna Boy which is recommanded here and which is the only supliers you can find in Europe where I live (Catherine, can I buy it from you ? Do you send it in France?) I mix the henna with limon juice, red wine and very strong coffee + one spoon of olive oil I let it release 8 hours and keep it 3 hours on my hair: Now My hair is more colored than the first time and I like the color which seems to turn redder with the time (my hair is naturally dark brown and now it is shining with a beautifull "chesnut auburn") BUT my templets (and my grays) are now more orange than red: so what I have to do the next time ? Is the orange turns into red with the future hennas? I would like have beautifull red hair like Catherine on the pic you can see in the "Mixes"...Is it possible with time? Maybee the next time I will use a little bit of indigo (like Electra do because I also love the color of her hair that you can see on the pic in the "Mixes" aera) However I will send Catherine a pic of my hair as soon as I have time to take one... So you can see the results! Thanks for all the information you can find here! I'm really fine to re-discover henna (I've used it when I was 20 with no gray hair I' m now 32) because I was really upset with my gray and don't want to use chimical (my mother does from now 30 years and her hair is not really nice now!)
