Anyway, I read: that you recommend waiting 3-6 months after using chemical hair dyes : before using henna. I am waiting for a sample to try a strand test : before going all the way. Does the "rule" apply if you've been using : semi- permanent color? : Looking forward to seeing the before and after gray pics! : Thanks for this awesome site. I agree with krazee. In my case, I did a hairball and strand test - and I had only last used permanent dye on Aug. 8/04. Began to experiment with my old henna on the last weekend in Aug, ..no results and hair felt a bit dry...ordered from Catherine Aug. 30...couldn't wait , tried another not-so-old henna [not much joy there either], and finally, last night, did the lemon juice/henna dye release overnight, plopped it on today, and It Worked!!! [and this was just box henna - obviously fresher]. All this was over hair that has been permanent dyed, semi=permanent dyed, bleached, stripped, re-dyed, in less than a year, and what I have here this minute is soft, full, shiny, rather multihued, but I like it [hadn't enough henna, so the whole head has bronze, bright red, and auburn areas, which sound odd, but do work]. It's also curly..??? - it has a natural, heavy but loose wave pattern, so whence all these new corkscrews?? So I think, Scara, if I, damaged hair and all, could get away with that, you may well be on your way to hennaing quite soon. Be sure to do your hairball and strand tests - then, in you go! Best of luck - please let us know how it goes. Katherine
