my experiencePosted by Kim in MI on September 10, 2004 at 11:22:45: In reply to: Re: ? for those that use indigo posted by Catherine Cartwright-Jones on September 7, 2004 at 12:17:11: I hennaed first, then when I had about 1/2" of roots showing (including a lot of gray) Idid a henna-indigo mix. I'm one of those mixes, "Kim A" -- I haven't tried to "even it out" at all -- I reapplied to my whole head -- now I will say that the roots where the gray is are NOT as dark as the darker parts, but it blends well, and I think it helps as my new roots grow out, more of a transition zone than a sharp line of contrast, if that makes sense. I use an indigo/henna mix and I find that together the red is less deep and it is more toned down, so my gray colors more of a medium brown, and the rest of my hair is a dark auburn. I think it blends very well, and like I said above, gives a less harsh look as it grows out than if all the gray was AS dark as the rest ... it's kind of like highlights. Hope that makes some sense Kim - happy with her dark auburn hair
