Mix Indigo and Henna together?

Hello,

I have read in the recipes that people mixed the two together after
the dye was released and put it in the hair all at once.

The Indigo page states that hair should be hennaed first, then
indigo put in.

I am trying to dark brown - I'd prefer the one-step process -- it it
okay?
