uneven areas - need advice

Hi everyone,
I'm an faithful henna user and really like the color and strength my
hair has gotten but I have a problem and I need advice.

I've noticed some areas in the back of my head, under the glossy red
hennaed hair, is my real hair color, a dark blonde. This is
obviously from me not getting every area of my hair covered. So, I
need some techniques from any of you who wish to help me out.

I henna alone and my hubby will not assist me and really that's good
becuase the couple of times I made him help were not worth the
trouble. ;>)

I also have waist length hair and the longer it's gotten the more
difficult it has been to get proper coverage. Once I put the henna
on my hair I really can't move the hair around much - maybe my mix
is too thick?
