Want auburn, not dark brownish/burgundyPosted by Rita on October 9, 2004 at 19:06:52: I welcome help from everyone on this. I recently used the Jamilaquality henna, and I used the following mix... 100gm henna, 1 cup fresh lemon juice, 1 cup hot water, 1 tbs red wine, 8 drops tea tree and lavender essential oils. I mixed it, and let it sit overnight for dye release. Then applied and left on 4 hours. I wanted my hair to look like "Andy's" hair in the "Mix" section. My hair is naturally dark brown, and I was wanting beautiful auburn results. Instead, I got even darker hair with a burgundyish tinge to it in the sunlight. It's such a dark color. Did turping cause the darker shade? Hair looks healthy and shiny, but in my next henna application, would beetroot powder help bring about more red, for auburn results? I just want a color change from brown to auburn.
