what are you using for "black henna" ?Posted by Kim in MI on October 16, 2004 at 18:05:45: In reply to: Black henna is not black on me!!!! posted by Eleni on October 12, 2004 at 03:19:24: Are you using indigo? Is this maybe old indigo that's lost it's oomph? I would suggestgetting fresh indigo from a reputable distributor ... : I have been hennaring my hair for about 15-17 years!! Yup a long : time. As I have very very grey hair....I use red henna first. Mix it : up with tea, let the tea cool and then place it in the henna powder, : let the colour sit, and after a few hours put it on my hair for about : 2-3 hours. Then rinse it off and my hair is bright orange. So next : step is I put the black henna paste on my hair and leave that on for : about an hour. Had been doing this with wonderful results. Would : always get a deep burgundy colour on my hair. Now for the past 6 : months or so, the black henna doesn't seem to take!! It's as if I : haven't put it on my hair. It does nothing. So I end up with orange : hair which I don't want. Any suggestions on what I can do? I would : really appreciate it.
