My results with Indigo

I used Colora black henna. I think it was pure indigo. My natural
hair is a light to medium brown and it gave it a very ashy/silvery
sheen but did not make it black. It almost has a blue sheen to it.
I left it on for a total of 30 minutes.

I was wondering, why did it not turn black? Did I not leave it on
long enough. I read somehwere on here something about oxidation.
Will it eventually turn black. Thanks a lot.
