my two centsPosted by Kim in MI on October 23, 2004 at 08:40:21: In reply to: My results with Indigo posted by Cindirella on October 23, 2004 at 01:01:30: I've never used Colora, so I don't know what's in it.Even if it WERE 100% indigo, I don't think you can expect BLACK from pure indigo over light-to-medium brown hair. Indigo is really a blue-black dye, and so over lighter hair you will get just what you see -- ash brown with a bluish-gray cast. If you want the color darker and less blue-gray, try using henna first, the two-step process. If you read Catherine's pages on GRAY hair (even though yours isn't gray) it will give you some idea of how the pigments work on hair. If you first make your hair darker and redder, then the indigo will give you a deeper pigment and won't look so blue-gray because of the red undertones. I think you will get closer to BLACK with indigo after henna than you will with indigo alone. There were also some posts, down below, about something called "amla oil" or something like that - I am not familiar with it at ALL, but I know it had something to do with wanting BLACK hair. HTH Kim
