looking for a good recipe for dark brown hairPosted by Elaine on October 27, 2004 at 16:56:36: I have dark brown hair with 20% grey, and have tried various hennasin the past year: 1) AUBREY, 2) LIGHT MONTAIN HENNA COLOR THE GRAY,& 3) LOGONA HERBAL HAIR COLOR. The second one is the most effective but takes 3 1/2 hrs to apply, stains everything temporarily and drips a lot. Logona makes a very fine paste that adheres well to the hair but it was not effective for me after trying it 2x and then a 3rd time applying chestnut followed by a mix of black and umber brown. So as a last resort I colored my hair with SURYA henna cream last Friday for a big occasion. This henna has some chemicals in it but is so easy to use. 4 days after using it, I have 6 little hives. I don't know if the henna is the cause. I do not want to give up on henna. Are these natural powders the way to go? Does anyone with dark brown hair have any good suggestions for mixes and timings? Is there a place to order the powders from on the East coast or in NYC? Thanks for all your help, Elaine
