: I was a vegetarian for about a year when I started losing hair too. My hands would get all
tangled up in it when I showered. The drain would become completely clogged. Finally I
cut my hair very short and it seemed that the shedding stopped. Eventualy I lost interest in
vegetarianism and grew my hair back. There was no more shedding. It was very odd. And I
had had high hopes that becoming a vegetarian was going to make me healthier. I ate
good things and took vitamins. Got plenty of protein and fat. Who knew?

: : Hair loss can be genetic, seasonal, hormonal, nutritional,
: : environmental, stress, or disease related ....
: :
: : If you're really concerned, probably should have a doctor evaluate
: it
:
:
: I did have it evaluated. Both my regular doctor and a dermatologist
: found nothing. I also consulted my gynecologist about possible
: hormonal problems. She ran tests and found nothing either. It's
: definitely not seasonal because this has been going on for a very
: long time. Nutrition, I eat very well and take supplements. Been a
: vegeterian since a teen (now 30's) and this type of thing never
: happened before. As far as genetics, no one in my family has had any
: problems with this, I have inquired. So I am clueless :( I will
: continue to do Henna every 3 - 4 weeks in hopes that it will help and
: at least it can't make it any worse.
