Hi, Raven,
Did you ask Holly at Henna by Holly [see the suppliers page on this
site]? She is in Toronto; I do not know if she has indigo, but you
might do well to ask.
Another option is just to order directly from Catherine here. She
ships very promptly. I have ordered from both of them and have been
satisfied.
I doubt that you will have much luck in finding decent henna, let
alone indigo, anywhere else in Toronto. I work there just at the
minute, and if one can find it at all, the usual run is stale Colora,
LM, Logrona, LUSH, and whatever dodgy 'henna products' litter the
shelves.Body art henna is supposed to remain frozen, if possible -
not languishing in all conditions on shelves! If you know any Indian
or Pakistani people, they may direct you to some stores where decent
henna is available, but again you nay run the risk of poor storage,
its containing green dye [to make it look fresh]or being stale.
Sometimes it can be quite good, but you are safer to order from a
dealer who states right on the packet of henna that this is 'summer
crop, 2004' - so you know what you are getting. Forget about salons.
Please let us know how things work out for you - we like to hear.
Also, the more of us in different cities and countries know where
decent henna is to be found, the more we can help one another. Good
luck!
