I followed the instructions as on the mixes page - I boiled : paprika and cloves with lemon juice, let it cool, stirred it through : with a bit of ti trea oil and left it to sit somewhere warm : overnight. Paper left under the plastic bags had turned orange so we : went ahead and used it. I left the henna on for about 6 hours, and : when I took the plastic wrap off the henna seemed to still be that : green colour, and I couldn't notice a dramatic effect. I put this : down to the stuff I used last time having additives in it. Anyway, : when it was all washed and dried it was kind of red, but not that : RED RED RED that I was after. I was slightly disappointed, but : resolved to do it again. : : rubbish and didn't work! As the whole overnight thing didn't seem to : work so well last time, I tried a different tack. I stirred liquid : through when it was still quite hot and put the mix into dishwasher : (hot from when it was last used) for 2 hours or so. This was partly : to test a theory and partly because I'm extremely impatient! ;) : Anyway, The paper had turned slightly orange, and I couldn't see the : scrape away effect, but it stained my fingers quite readily (this : wasn't the case with the first batch). I only left it on for about 3 : hours this time, and I could immediately see the difference when I : took the wrap off. It was that RED RED RED - woohoo! Next time I : will try leaving it to sit overnight and see what happens. And my : hair doesn't seem to be leaking as much as it did when I coloured it : with the mix Nazeer stuff in Melbourne. I think you left it too long the first time and it demised. I put mine in a pot of hot water and leave it for 1-2 hours. If you want to leave it overnight, leave it at room temperature.
