Old Henna?Posted by christina on December 8, 2004 at 16:08:17: I am fairly new to using henna on my hair. I'm getting ready to use itfor the third time. I have been buying my henna from the health food store, it's called "Rainbow Henna", it comes in a little white sealed jar and is from a company called "Rainbow Corporation" in Bohemia N.Y. So far I have gotten good results with thier product, it looks pure and always smells fresh. I was wondering, if I buy the henna now but dont plan on using it for another 2 weeks, will it remain fresh as long as I dont break the seal? Another question, Am I supposed to dump boiling water over the henna, or should it just be warm? I see someone has said that the boiling water will "kill" it, yet everyone says that the henna should be kept warm in order for it to process. I didnt get such bright red results last time, but I think it's because I used a "burgandy" variation instead of the Persian Red. My hair is already brown. Thanks
