Just try henna to begin withPosted by Elettaria on December 30, 2004 at 13:28:12: In reply to: making dark hair very bright posted by Ellie on December 29, 2004 at 13:25:44: I know people in the mix love playing about with differentingredients, but you really can get superb results just using plain henna, and that's certainly what you should start with. Get the best quality you can find (pure, body art quality, and none of that compound stuff), mix it up with water and lemon juice, and start experimenting! Use Catherine's mix for guidanace (labelled "The easiest mix" or something, I think), and look at the chart I drew up to figure out how much henna to use for your hair length and thickness. If your hair's that colour naturally, you can probably get a deep, rich auburn. The one thing you can't do with henna is to go lighter. It should still end up a beautiful colour, though, and there's still room for a fair amount of brightness with the deeper shades.
