I ended up cooking my henna when I tried Fia's pectin recipe, so next
time I plan to leave it to cool a lot longer, because it WAS a lot
easier to apply and rinse out (it just didn't dye my hair) Also, a
few posts down, someone describes using Knox gelatine and having good
results - check that out, too.

: Hello,
: I'm very interested in trying Fia's pectin recipe but have some
: questions. My hair is the same length as Fia's in the September
2003
: pic on her website and was wondering if using this recipe, will I
be
: able to use just 50 gms of henna vs. 100 gms. Also I'm concerned
: about cooking the henna, would I be able to let the pectin cool to
: about 85 degrees before adding it to the henna or will this create
a
: problem mixing the two? One more thing, can gelatin be substituted?
: I would like to try this recipe out cause it would be great if I
can
: stretch out the henna, use half as much and get the same result.
: Thanks for any advice!!!
