thin hair

My hair is mousy brown with some grey. It is also very thin on the
top. I used commercial hair color about 8 years ago and it turned
the top of my head orange. Really gross. Will henna do this to my
hair also? I have heard wonderful things about henna and would
really like to try it, but I would like some advice from an expert
before I go through with it.

Can anyone make any suggestions... or tell me not to even try.
