I myselfhave been a permed and dyed mess since my teens. I started using henna - the quality stuff after finding this website. I used some crappy stuff called mountain something and my dried up ends turned green! THe quality stuff actually helped blend in the green so it wasn't so scary and gradullly cut off the green part. Now I love my hair. It shines and it's strong. It was always prone to split ends and now splits much less. A nice plus since I'm growing it as long as I can. I would like to suggest that mixing the henna with vinegar - I use plain old white vinegar but I know some people on the board use apple cider vinegar. Anyway, I found vinegar to less to harsh than lemon juice and kept my hair softer. I would also suggest using a vinegar 2-3 times a week. The rinse is just a large spoonful of vinegar to 16 ounces (500 ml) of water. Pour this over your head and don't rinse out. The vinegar smell goes away after your hair dries. Good Luck
