Ok, so what is the straight scoop: is henna permanent or not? Under
the FAQ on this site, the answer is more or less, yes, it is
permanent. On other sites, the resounding answer is no, henna is not
permanent and washes out in 6-12 weeks. The box of henna I used
indicated also it is not permanent.
I recently henna'd my dark blonde/light brown hair with Light
Mountain (containing henna indigo--a pre-mix--I used the "medium
brown) and love the results. I was attempting to get some bleached
out (and chemically treated--yes it worked with my chemically treated
hair, didn't turn green or anything:)) ends more similar to my
roots. It worked! It really looks good, but still I am hoping it is
not permanent, because I don't want to be tied to this look. (I have
long hair.) So, is henna/indigo permanent or not?? Thanks so much
for your help.
