Waiting and Worried. - What if it turns out red or orange!!Posted by lisa on January 25, 2005 at 00:28:55: Hi ... I am typing this entry with hair wrapped in "gladwrap" andmy partner's woollen hippy hat. Its about 37 degrees outside...very hot. This will be my first ever henna ... and I'm feeling a little anxious. I went out and had 3 inches off my hair in preparation for H Day. Mixed 100 g henna with 7 tablespoons of dry ground coffee grounds. To this I added strong espresso coffee and lemon jusice to mix. Waited approx 22 hours...prepared one heaped tablespoon of indigo as a last minute precaution (I'm petrified of the red orange effect...definit after brown). Shall leave on 2.5 hours and hope hope hope for the best. I'm a bit worried that I should have used 50 / 50 henna indigo to really chase the red back down the spectrum. Question..if I find that the red is too bright how soon can I redye with 50 50 henna Indigo. Im on holidays from work so have plenty of time to panic and redye before revealing my new head of hair at work. PS: The coffee seemed to make everything very grainy and thick. Wasn't that easy to apply...but my partner..bless him...helped out big time. Lisa Australia
