My first henna came out to orange. I could tell across the room inthe mirror with wet hair that the tone of my brown hair was too
orange, especially my bleached highlights. I henna/indigoed 50/50 two
days later(I had to wait for indigo to arrive) and everything was
fine. I think henna alone for some reason is more orange the first
time you use it. Now I can use 100% henna and it no longer looks
orange-probably the build up of oxidized henna already in my hair.
I hope you hair turns out well.
