It's now still a beautiful auburn red, it is much darker than it was. I didn't change my mix, it just did that on it's own after repeat use. I do my hair about every 3 weeks because the roots grow in so rapidly and are soooooo noticeable. As for the smell, I absolutely recommend cloves. That's what I use. Some on this site said it could irritate your scalp so be careful. It's never bothered mine though. I use a full regular size spice jar for every 200gm of henna I use. I don't use dextrose in my henna, as it is somewhat difficult to find and I imagine it is much more expensive than sugar. I do use sugar tho, and it has made a world of difference in the texture of the mix. I believe the difference between the effects of dextrose and sugar would matter MUCH more if I was using it on my skin, but for hair I think the sugar is probably good enough. I agree with Iris, give it some time and see what happens. I bet the same mix will be darker next time so if you like what you've got, I'd keep it the same. Good luck! krazee
