Oxidized henna isn't brassy so the next time you henna over it the pre-oxidation orange won't be as pronounced. Check out Katie's mix, it gives a good representation of what pure oxidized henna will look like on your grey streaks. My greys never get as dark as my brown hair even with indigo in the mix but they blend well and look like a redder version of the salon highlights I used to pay big bucks to obtain. It many ways it is better they stay lighter because it makes my roots look less pronounced as they grow out and my hair has some dimension to it. I don't know what I am going to do when I am more grey than brown though. I too fear going all black. I think it would require gobs of make-up for me to pull off. If you don't like your color in a few days or are anxious to max out the absorbsion of henna in your hair I would try the same mix again and if you can risk going a bit darker up the indigo a bit. Even another layer of 100% henna will tone them down a bit after it oxides. I've noticed that the indigo gives my brown a more cool burgandy tone in the sun and can look almost black under flourecent light. My hair looks the brownest and best to me under incandecent lights. It's like I have three different colors of hair.
