Re: henna for thinning hairPosted by pen on January 31, 2005 at 09:34:46: In reply to: Re: henna for thinning hair posted by jasmine on January 31, 2005 at 00:35:00: i don't have thinning hair, but i did have extremely almostunsalvagable hair ravaged by the effects of chemical dyes and bleach. since henna (3 times now), my hair has been transformed. my hair has gone from see-through hay, to shiney and thick. it is amazing. someone actually stopped me in a store last week and said "ooh pretty hair". now that hasn't happened to me in YEARS! the color is beautiful, and the texture, while still in the process of repairing, is a million times thicker and healthier. also, i've been treating it with essential oils to help with the thickness. here's a blend i make: rosemary, lavender, and jojoba with a touch of coconut. i leave the blend in overnight and wash the next day. make sure you are prepared to have oily-looking hair the next day, as it may not wash out in one go (especially with the coconut)(hail to the ponytail). you can also apply this concoction to the ends only for shine and health, but rosemary in particular is said to promote hair growth, so is good on scalp. just test a portion of scalp for reaction. also, i would recommend taking nettles in capsule form for the same reason. all of these can be found in your natural foods store. all in all i highly recommend henna and am truly grateful to have found this website! : : I am hoping to hear from people with thin, brittle hair who have : : noticed more hair growth,less frizz, stronger, healthier looking : hair.
