Have you read the amla posts? I have heard several people say they got brown, not
any *red* using amla with their henna, maybe with indigo too, I get mixed up after
reading a lot.

Did you read this recent post from Raven (is that the one you're referring to? (posted
below) -- She said she got a dark espresso brown by doing indigo and salt first, then
henna the next day ...

Good luck and let us know what you come up with and how it works!

Also, my starting color, although dark brown, had a lot of gray and a lot of faded out
light brown (from previous chemical dyes) so if your dh has very little gray and his
hair is dark, he is "safer" from the henna's reds than I was ... henna won't make it any
lighter, so if it's close to black already, he's fairly "safe" LOL ...

: Thanks Kim! I think for his hair I'm going to have to use more Indigo
: as he does NOT want ANY red! LOL!! But it's not quite black, so I'm
: going to have to use some henna in it. I've been reading a lot of the
: indigo posts and some sound very interesting, including the one about
: adding the salt, so I'll keep reading and once he's ready to take the
: plunge, I'll probably use a combo of a couple different things I've
: read. I'm sure everyone uses something just a bit different, because
: no two people have the same color hair, so I'll just have to play a
: bit I guess, and do some strand tests until I get what we're looking
: for!! But thanks again, ALL input is VERY helpful!!
:
: Peace,
: Ginny
