I'm about to try mayonnaise : (heard it's great for hair), but I've also heard that henna "coats" the hair and doesn't : "let" any conditioner through. However, there are so many positive reports on this site : and elsewhere about how great henna is for hair that I can't quite believe the negative : reports. So any feedback / tips / links on this matter would be much appreciated. : thanks! Henna doesn't coat the hair, it binds with the keratin in the hair itself, which makes the hair stronger and redder. If your're finding your hair dull, I definitely agree to switch to something a bit less acidic than pure lemon juice. The quality of henna used also plays a big part in this--some lower quality hennas don't rinse completely clean off the hair for the first few washings, and can make the hair appear dull.
