Not for me...Posted by Shelly on February 7, 2005 at 17:33:12: In reply to: No More Henna for Me - Going to take it out completely posted by Marisol Colon on February 7, 2005 at 16:53:05: : Hi Everyone,: : First of all I must say that I love how henna conditions my hair but : unfortunately I will have to have it bleached out. I don't know if : any of you know that once you henna you are stuck with it. You : cannot color over it and for it be removed you have to let it grow : out or bleach it out. Not really true for me... If I don't want to henna anymore it eventually fades away to my natural black color, but it may take a while. I just remember a while back I hennaed and since my hair is very dark (blackish brown), I didn't henna it again (because the color doesn't look DRAMATICALLY different) for another few years. Eventually no red showed up in the sunlight and my hair was darker. My mother uses occasionally a chemical dye and her hair is hennaed. It isn't permanent, it's from Clairol and I think it is semi- permanent or something. (chemical dye, not the henna) I think it's called Light n Easy and I don't think it's a strong or serious dye.
