No More Henna for Me - Going to take it out completelyPosted by Marisol Colon on February 7, 2005 at 16:53:05: Hi Everyone,First of all I must say that I love how henna conditions my hair but unfortunately I will have to have it bleached out. I don't know if any of you know that once you henna you are stuck with it. You cannot color over it and for it be removed you have to let it grow out or bleach it out. I have always used a light brown box color. I thought I would switch to a healthier color (henna) but I have a problem. My roots do not take any color (dark brown) and the rest of it is now (brownish/reddish). My hair color is too dark and I absolutely hate it. I cannot get any color on my roots so I am either stuck with living with a 2-tone head until it all grows out or bleaching it out and recoloring using a regular dye. Well that is what I am going to do and I might add it is going to cost me about $200.00 to do this whole thing at an AVEDA Hair Salon in New York. I tell you the thought of bleaching my hair makes me feel like crying but I have no choice. If I had known this I would NEVER EVER have used henna. Good luck to you all and I hope you know what you are getting into.
