Henna doesn't "coat" henna and prevent anything from conditioning. Mayonnaise is a good conditioner for if your henna dries out your hair. So is a dairy conditioner that has about 1/3 to 1/4 cup of plain yogurt, 1 egg, 3 tbsp olive oil, and 2 tbsp of real mayonnaise. This helps to be used after henna if your hair is dry. Leave it in for a little bit and that can do a good job in conditioning. Also using a reliable regular conditioner will help too. (after henna) Adding honey and/or olive oil TO my henna mix always gives my hair better moisture and condition. : Has anyone found that henna dried out their hair? : I used good body art quality henna, soaked it overnight in lemon juice and left it on : for 3 hours. The first day, my hair (which has not been chemically treated) looked : great, but since then, it's definitely gone dull and flyaway. : I tried washing it and conditioning it, but still no change. I'm about to try mayonnaise : (heard it's great for hair), but I've also heard that henna "coats" the hair and doesn't : "let" any conditioner through. However, there are so many positive reports on this site : and elsewhere about how great henna is for hair that I can't quite believe the negative : reports. So any feedback / tips / links on this matter would be much appreciated. : thanks!
