Origin or type of henna?

Is there a tremendous difference in the results from the different
types (persian, moroccan, indian) of henna on hair? Or with hair, is
it more about the freshness issue, additions to the mix, etc. that
encourage the colour one direction or other?

Anybody have firm favourites for hair colour? I would prefer to go
with something that leans more toward red than brown if possible. And
even if the say, Indian henna leans more toward brown, is it still
RED brown? Am I making sense? (bear with me)
