My guess is that you'll have a prettier red tone to whatever red highlights you get if you use good quality henna. There's some risk you'll end up with orangey highlights with lesser quality. The color is usually not permanent this way - for once, it's very subtle and any new growth will be close to the henna-glossed hair, second, there is much less pigment present to cling to your hair and it doesn't stick as well since the conditioner will block some of it. /Fia
