Blueberries?

Ok so we've mentioned possibly using blueberries in the mix. Now,
uh, how might I go about that? I can't remember where I read the
instructions on that. X amount of frozen blueberries to X amount of
water...boil...add some alum somewhere down the line. What IS alum
btw? Is that safe to use in a henna mix? I don't have any so no
testing going on right now. Maybe I'll have an answer by the time I
do my shopping tomorrow.
