mixing henna powder with regular conditioner?

This may be a dumb question (I'm a newbie forgive me!!!) Since my
hair may be too damaged for the weight of traditional henna...

would mixing the powder with a regular conditioner work as a (albeit
wash-out and temporary) color depositing conditioning rinse?
