? please... I REALLY want to use henna on my hair, however....

Hello to all,
I am confused about something...
First of all, my main reason for wanting to use henna is to help make
my thin, fine hair--thicker and fuller. I know that henna coats the
hair shaft, and that each time it is used, the hair will become a
little thicker or fuller looking. My hair is naturally a medium to
dark brown, with some reddish highlights, straight, and very shiny
(when it is healthy!) I want to keep my hair a medium to dark brown,
shiny, and healthy... but I want to do it with henna, as opposed to
chemical dyes and glossing treatments...
MY QUESTION: I have dyed, permed, highlighted, and glossed my hair
over the years, and I am confused as to whether or not I can wait a
certain time period after any of these processes (perhaps 4-6
months?) before I can use henna.. I know that once I use the henna,
I can never go back to chemicals-- BUT , can henna ONLY be used on
VIRGIN hair (hair that has NEVER, EVER been chemically dyed or
permed?)
