Dear Prairiechild,

Since you have blond hair and didn't like the test strand results, I
would run another one with your additives before you do your entire head.

From my experience neither wine, grape juice, blueberry juice, coffee
etc. do much of anything for color. Especially not long term. They are
all acidic and would help with dye release. I have brown hair though
so maybe it is just too subtle for me to notice. The only thing so
far that has gotten rid of the more orange tone of henna is indigo.
Even a small amount as an additive cools down the red considerably and
better matches my skin tone.

I used 50/50 henna and walnut powder last night for the first time,
but I am waiting until the oxidation runs its course before I pass
judgement on whether it made a difference.

Adding a few tablespoons of cloves makes the henna and your hair smell
very nice.
