Skunk stripePosted by Keridwen on January 6, 2005 at 14:49:48: I have been been using red henna for almost 30 years. Now that myhair is almost 75% white on top, and probably 30% in back, I find I have to touch up my roots every two weeks. If I go three weeks, I have a very noticable skunk stripe. I would like to move towards a strawberry blonde henna for several reasons. As I get older, I think the deep red is a little too much for me, and I think a light strawberry blonde would allow my white to grow out a little less noticiably and allow me to reduce applications. How do I get from deep red to strawberry blonde? My natural hair is dark brown--what little is left anyway. Since I have used henna forever, and I have almost waist length hair, I have quite a buildup. If I start using strawberry blonde, will my hair get light all over, or will I end up with a strawberry blonde skunk stripe? Also, has anyone here dealt with growing out henna or dealing with white hair that needs constant retouching--and if so, any tips to how more easily deal with it? Thanks
