Even though I believe that a vegetarian diet is much healthier than any other, just like people on other diets, vegetarians should be careful to get all that they need in their diet and I'm afraid that due to a busy lifestyle I have not always done this. I am currently more careful than I have been but just to err on the side of caution do like to take supplements. The only reason I mentioned that I was vegetarian was the fact that I was interested to find out whether there was something (other than iron, which I am particularly careful about now) which I was lacking in my diet, since I have had previously had deficiency problems. I found Pierre's post about silicon particularly useful after reading from various sources about this on the internet I feel that it might be a supplement that I should take, and it seems that this is not a problem peculiar to vegetarians but a product of overprocessed food (which I do tend to avoid) and pesticide use (which I'm afraid due to the cost of organic food I cannot afford to avoid!). I also found on the internet that Flaxseed oil is paricularly useful for hair growth, I have used this for other reasons previously so I will certainly be getting some of this as well. I will let everyone know how it goes, and obviously keep up with the henna which has been a God-send for my hair which now feels healthier than it has done for years. I just can't wait until the summer! Do other people find that their hair grows better at this time of year? Maybe one day I'll have the long, flowing locks that other people on this site seem to have managed to grow! Can anyone tell me how long it has taken them to grow their hair, and how long it might take me if i keep up the careful upkeep, from shoulder length to about half way down the back (the lenghth I am aiming for?) : Thanks for the input, I was commenting quite quickly and didn't write : all that I should have. I too have heard that the general population : is deficient, as you said - mostly due to the choices in fooe - way : too much junk food! I mearly meant to point out veges. simply : because the original poster mentioned she was a vegetarian - I wasn't : comparing all of the population - that would have taken way too : long. (smiles).
