Henna and Highlights

I have been hennaning my hair on and off for many years. More
recently I have been doing it every month. I do not have any
permanent dye -color in my hair. My hair is very dark brown and I
would like to add some highlights, like a few golden strands here and
there. Can anyone tell me if this is safe - ok to do? My last Henna
was about a week ago. Any help would be greatly appreciated :) Thank
you.
