More: recently I have been doing it every month. I do not have any : permanent dye -color in my hair. My hair is very dark brown and I : would like to add some highlights, like a few golden strands here and : there. Can anyone tell me if this is safe - ok to do? My last Henna : was about a week ago. Any help would be greatly appreciated :) Thank : you. IF you have been using body-art quality henna, and IF you are picky about what chemicals you use to do the highlights...yes, you're safe. Check my second mix in the mixes section, which should give you a jumping off point. I'd be wary of using any boxed "highlighting" kits that give specific shades of highlights, as the dyes used to make sure the highlights come out a certain shade are the same ppd dyes that we are all trying to avoid. Straight peroxide/bleach mix is the safest in relation to henna, but it can be hard to control the shade you get.
