Looking for tried henna/indigo for hubby's dark brown hair.... Suggestions??

I posted one message and no one replied, SO I will attempt again!! I
hennaed my hair for red, which turned out great, but I like my hair
red! Hubby has very, very dark brown hair, not quite black, but
nearly, with quite a bit of gray. He wants to cover the gray, but
doesn't want jet black hair, and would like his gray to blend in well,
but does NOT want red (he's pretty clear on that part!!). I have zero
experience with indigo since I like my hair the brightest and reddest
hair I can get. He really wants to color it, and I think it will look
much better if he gets rid of the gray, but I'd really like to hear
from someone who has done this before trying it. his hair is REALLY
long, halfway down his back, THICK and all one length, oh yeah, and
VERY naturally curly. Can someone, ANYONE, give me some suggestions,
or point me to a posted mix that would work well for him?? You all
really seem to know what you're doing, and with indigo, I do NOT, so
any and all help would be VERY much appreciated! Thanks in advance!!
:) Oh, and a big thanks to Catherine for all her help and
assistance, when I called her, she was great and my hair turned out
wonderful!! Her advice and products are awesome. :)
