Hennaeing Roots Only?

Ooook..
I've been hennaeing my hair for almost a year now (yey!). It's in
super condition and it's a lovely dark reddy colour :o)

I'd now like to be just hennaeing my roots, which my mother's going
to give me a hand with (she used to be a hairdresser, so she's got
all the 'gear'! lol)
I just wondered if anyuone had any success with doing their own
roots?
My hair's about bra strap length now. I've always hennaed my whole
head with no help, but I don't know if I'd be able to just do the
roots by myself (I'm worried about missing bits & all that stuff).

Does anyone have any tips for hennaeing your own roots?.. or is this
just impossible?
