The Certo didn't work last timePosted by Elettaria on May 12, 2004 at 19:47:43: In reply to: Re: Hopefully made a convert - now how do we deal with her hair? posted by Alison on May 11, 2004 at 22:34:21: This is why I'm asking about agar-agar. To be honest, since her hairisn't that long, I'm not sure it's worth bothering about. Thanks for the time estimate, what should I recommend she starts with for hairbrush tests? I've heard a few people say that lemon juice gave them quite an orangey result. I suspect she'll kill me if the bleached bits go orange. What would be a good acid to use to turn them more towards red? Burgundy tones would probably go down well, and a nice copper might be ok as long as it's not orange. I'm currently luring her with the idea of lovely spices, and I've been doing the hairbrush tests on my own hair (may as well see what sort of henna it is) with cloves. The three hour one was a bit brighter than my natural colour (golden brown), the six hour one came out a nice deep, coppery red, but I've never chemically treated my hair and it always was slow to absorb colour. Dye release time is two hours for this henna, which I understand is a good sign. Any more suggestions?
