: I was plowing through the adacemic article searches to put together
: the piece on cassia obovata .... and found one that just stunned me:
:
: The following product, labeled as "Essence of Neutral Henna" clearly
: does NOT have much anything to do with henna, neutral or otherwise
: .... and in fact has carcinogens!
:
: Alberto VO5 Conditioner (Essence of Neutral Henna)--Alberto-Culver
: USA, Inc.
:
: • Labelled toxic ingredients: Formaldehyde, carcinogenic;
Polysorbate
: 80 (can be contaminated with the carcinogen 1,4-dioxane); FD & C Red
: #4, carcinogenic.
:
: Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet!

Wow. Bad, BAD Alberto-Culver! I am so ignorant. First of all I'm only
just learning about reading labels, still haven't a clue to what half
the ingredients are, and to top it off, I stupidly was under the
impression that in the U.S. you weren't allowed to make a false claim
of ingredient on a label??!! I thought that went out with the snake
oil salesmen of the last century! Unbelievable.
