First time with plain water (as per the box : instructions), the second time (THANK YOU!) with lemon and espresso. : My dark brown hair has a definite red tint, especially in the sun, : but my single grey (ok, WHITE) strands look like orange soda. I dont : have a lot of the grey/white, but it buggs me. I would love to even : them out more. OK, so I have ordered 2 batches from Catherine, and : they are tempting me as we speak. My questions....is it too soon to : re henna (last time was 2 weeks ago) and is there something I can : add to my mix to deepen those lighter strands (or will that happen : with repeat hennas) - or to help the henna "stick" more to the light : bits? I suspect this is a case of keep doing 'til you have the : results you want, but I wanted to ask if I was missing something. : : I have to add that I am somewhat relieved that there are other folk : out there that are hooked on this stuff - what is it about the : combination of experience and results (yep, I like the smell too!) : that makes you want to mix another batch <VBG>?.... : : Thanks for any suggestions....Kirsten You can henna more than once in 24 hours if you wanted...not that it would be terribly fun, since you'd never see the first stain oxidize. So, at two weeks, you're fine to rehenna. On to the grey/white. There's absolutely no reason that you couldn't henna that streak by itself if you're fine with the rest of your hair colour. It would save you quite a bit of henna, and thus money, to repeatedly henna it until it turns a deeper shade, rather than keep doing your whole head. Maybe henna the whole every six weeks or so, when you start to see regrowth, and just the strand once or twice in between big hennas? Red wine, grape juice, and beet juice have all been praised for their extra-red in hennas on here, so maybe try adding one of those to the next mix? Or, maybe make tea using lemon juice instead of water. Make a lot of it. Reduce so it's concentrated. I'm writing this spur of the moment since I have no idea if it would work or not, but going on the principle of tea- staining white cloth. It couldn't hurt, certainly, to have the extra tannins in there.
