Shampoo just before applying henna (to damp hair) would be a good
idea. The henna dye attaches to the proteins in the hair.

If it continues to rub off you may want to try drying your hair
before you apply the oils. You might want to try sealing your hair
with silicones. They don’t rub off as easily.
