Defrosting henna, and how long to leave it on for this timePosted by Elettaria on November 24, 2004 at 12:46:34: J is finally coming over for her second henna on Sunday. We've gotsome left over in the freezer from last time, and will mix up the rest on Saturday night. The question is, how long does henna take to defrost? Normally I don't defrost things, I just take them out of the freezer and stick them under the grill or in the oven. But I gather that grilled henna isn't quite the thing. When should I take it out? Can henna paste be kept in the fridge for a short time (say a day or two), come to that? Last time it took 45 min to apply the henna, starting from the bottom, and then we left it on for 2 hours. She ended up with bright copper, as planned, and the top layer is slightly lighter than the bottom. We don't want it to get any darker, so we're thinking of starting from the top this time (I'm dreading it, but at least there are instructions on this site) and leaving it on for 1 1/2 hours. Does that sound reasonable to people? She's left it for months so she's got at least 2" of ash-blonde roots, which hopefully will end up the same colour as the rest of her hair. And most importantly, we intend to watch "Pirates of the Caribbean" while the henna is one. Who else here insists on watching silly films as part of the henna ritual?
