Walnut advise.

Just got 4 oz of walnut powder from Castle Arts to experiment with in
my ultimate mix.

I have been using henna and indigo in varying amounts to maintain my
natural dark brunette hair and cover 10% grey. I'd like to get it more
brownish than dark burgandy wine.

Having read everything on walnut I could find on this site and in the
archives, I am considering the following:

65% henna, 35% walnut
or
60% henna, 30% walnut, 10% indigo

Does this make sense?

Are there any hints for maximizing the walnut powder dye? Do you mix
it in at the same time as the henna with the lemon juice? Do you add
it later, like an hour before you use it?

How long until optimal walnut dye release? Do you boil it with water
first? I mixed some with lemon juice as a test and tried the every
half hour on my skin and toe nail and couldn't get it to stain.
Although it did make my skin feel softer.

Has anyone tried to put just walnut powder paste on their hair?

Any advise/experiences before I take the walnut pludge would be
appreciated.
